How did God speak specifically to you today? What are some reasons for a disciplined devotional life? If not already done, aim to establish assigned quiet time each day to spend with Jesus.

Scripture – what verse(s), word, seems to be standing out
eg. John 15:1-10, verse 4, remain in me … etc.
Message – what is the Holy Spirit teaching / telling you specifically
eg. I am the One who holds you when you are close to me … etc.
Obedience – is there a call of obedience (what is the next step)
eg. don’t just glance over what you’re reading be still to hear & listen … etc.
Repentance – is the Spirit is prompting an area for sin-confession
eg. Lord forgive me for just glancing over – may I hear more deeply … etc.
Prayer – start and conclude in a time of prayer
eg. Lord-God thank you for teaching me to be still to hear that has me drawing close to you … Amen … etc.
