REFLECTING UPON THE WORD WRITTEN (Scriptures)
1. PRAY FERVENTLY: Pray for the Holy Spirit to open your heart to receive God's Word.
2. READ SLOWLY: Matt.22:15-22;Jn.18:33-37;Jn.19:10-11;Rom.13:6-7;Rom.8:17;Rom.14:9-12;Eph.2:6;Col.1:15-18;Heb.13:17
3. REFLECT DEEPLY: Did any verses specifically stand out to you? Consider writing them down and any implication/application God may be pressing upon you.
REFLECTING UPON THE WORD SPOKEN (Sermon)
1. Have you ever said or thought, "Who are you to tell me what to do?" What made you ask this? Who was this asked to?
2. Why is the concept of "authority" a senstive discussion?
3. Why, in God's Sovereign ways, did He allow people to have a position of power and authority over others (eg. government, family leadership, church leadership, etc.)?
4. How has the FALL corrupted God's good intentions of authority?
5. How did this message reveal Jesus' approach towards those in governing authority (e.g. Roman Govenor & Emperor)?
6. What type of authority do Christians/Church have in Christ? How are we to live with such spiritual authority in the example of Christ?
"Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according tot he power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen." - Ephesians 3:20-21
