REFLECTING UPON THE WORD WRITTEN (Scriptures)
1. PRAY FERVENTLY: Pray for the Holy Spirit to open your heart to receive God's Word.
2. READ SLOWLY: Psalm 51:1-12; Luke 2:9-11; John 15:10-11; Romans 15:13; James 1:1-2; 1 Peter 1:8-9
3. REFLECT DEEPLY: Did any verses specifically stand out to you? Consider writing them down and any implication/application God may be pressing upon you.
REFLECTING UPON THE WORD SPOKEN (Sermon)
1. How would you describe joy? What does a joyful person look like? What's the difference between joy and happiness?
2. Is it still possible to be a joyful person even through a time of pain and suffering?
3. What is the source of joy for the followers of Christ?
4. How is the Enemy trying to rob you from God's indwelling presence of joy? (See SACRED-MOMENT below)
5. What spiritual practices are you willing to commit to that will nurture the spiritual fruit of joy?
"SACRED-MOMENT"
Ask God: "Heavenly Father, will you make it known to me how the Enemy is trying to rob me from choosing and experiencing your abiding presence of joy?"
Joyfully thankful for the gift of my salvation in Christ!
