REMINDERS AS WE EXPLORE THE BOOK OF REVELATION
1. Revelation (Apocalypse - "unveiling" "unfolding") of Jesus Christ (1:1).
2. The book of Revelation is an Apocalyptic genre as well as an Epistle (John writing to the specific churches in their context) and, Prophecy.
3. We are to be BLESSED when we take into heart what is being read in the book of Revelation (1:3).
4. John uses several Old Testament allusions to help provide meaning to his vision.
5. Numbers may be used to convey a certain meaning beyond their numerical value (i.e., 4, 7, 12, etc.)

STUDY/REFLECTION QUESTIONS
1. What is the cultural pressures and influences surrounding these 7 x churches?
2. Do you ever wonder if God is really involved with what's happening all around us (e.g., suffering for our faith, violence, plagues, economic struggles, etc.).
3. Do you find yourself a bit fearful or anxious through the chaos felt in our world?
4. What do you think is Jesus' motivation in having John share his heavenly vision to these churches (and for us today)?
5. Who is the One seated on the heavenly Throne and what is the significance for the context of these 7 x churches?
6. What is the response from the heavenly counsel to the One seated on the Throne? What is the implication for us today?
7. Whatever struggles and trials you may be faced with, may you know our LORD GOD ALMIGHTY has all things in control. And as we believe this to be true, let us also continue to worship God in our response.

"And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful." Colossians 3:15
