READ: Numbers 11:4-17 (Moses); 1 Kings 18:16-19:9 (Elijah); Jeremiah 20:1-18 (Jeremiah)

BIG QUESTION: "How are we, as Christians, to live a faithful and fulfilling life, that Jesus offers, within the tension of pain and suffering - whether physically, emotionally, mentally, or spiritually?"

1. Have you ever experienced wanting to give up living? You're not alone. Even God's called and chosen experienced that in serving God (eg. Moses, Elijah, Jeremiah).
What was a common struggle with God's called and chosen prophets (Moses, Elijah, Jeremiah)?
2. Why do you think these prophets came to this intense type of struggle?
3. What actions did they take to get through this?
4. What was God's response?

1. The above prophets still turned to God.
2. Turning to God allowed God to REALIGN their perspectives with His revelation.
3. Turning to God allowed God to REASSURE them with His promises.
4. Turning to God allowed God to REPLENISH them as they move forward.
5. H.A.L.T. (Hungry, Angry, Lonely, Tired): Having a four happen at once can make anyone overwhelmed. Please consider having a good meal. Take great courage to talk to a good friend. Take some good time to rest. These are essentials that may help strengthen and renew your body, mind, spirit, soul.

Jesus says, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light." - Matthew 11:28-30

"...but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." - Isaiah 40:31

As you turn to Jesus, may He bring His peace, hope, and rest upon you!
