Christianity is quite unique in that our faith-based movement is not primarily founded by the teachings of Jesus but primarily founded by WHO our founder is! Therefore embracing Jesus' incarnation, virgin birth of the Holy Spirit, resurrection, and ascension are vital declarations in understanding Christianity. Jesus is "GOD WITH US" who came to bring salvation for our sin, peace with God, and a holy invitation into the heavenly realms of glory for all eternity!

1. How do you see Satan trying to make Jesus (and Christianity) scandalous rather than that of His supernatural nature?

READ MATTHEW 1:18-25 (share reading)

1. How would you have reacted to Mary’s pregnancy had you been Joseph?
2. What must we understand about ourselves for the reason of Jesus’ holy-divine birth?
3. The angel told Joseph not to be afraid in taking Mary home as his wife. What might Joseph have feared?
4. Why is the incarnation of Christ AND the conception of the virgin birth by the Holy Spirit important to embrace as a Christian?
5. In what ways is Satan still trying to make Christianity scandalous rather than from God’s supernatural abilities?
6. God With Us becomes God Within Us when we are spiritually born of the Holy Spirit in our relationship with Christ.

Spend time reflecting this truth and what how this helps you with in your Christian journey with Jesus.

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God...and the Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth" (John 1:1,14)

In the words of pastor Tim Keller, "In short, Jesus is the divine Light of the world, because he brings a NEW LIFE to replace our spiritual deadness, because he shows us THE TRUTH that heals our spiritual blindness, and because he is THE BEAUTY that breaks our addictions to money, sex, and power. As WONDERFUL COUNSELOR he walks with us even into and through the shadow of death, where no other companion can go. He is a Light for us when all other lights go out... Christmas shows us that Christianity is not good advice. IT IS GOOD NEWS!"

So ever thankful for the GOOD NEWS of JESUS CHRIST!
