MESSAGE: Living in Christ’s Love and Light - Rev. T. Crowe
KEY VERSES: Ephesians 5:1-14
I. INTRODUCTION
Does it really matter how Christians live in the ways of the flesh as long as their spirit/soul is saved in Christ? Why or Why Not?
II. WORD OF THE LORD – Read the Key Verses
Before you read these verses, pray for the Holy Spirit to help bring wisdom, understanding, and application into your life situation. How is God’s Word in these verses speaking to you (teaching, application, etc)
III. BIBLICAL CONTEXT
- Apostle Paul continues to exhort holy living for believers living within a culture that accepts immoral and impure practices including perverse temple worship to gods and goddesses. He is also teaching against false teachers (eg. Gnosticism) so believers don’t sway back to their old nature ways.
IV. APPLICATION – “Be the Love and Light of Jesus”
-Live sacrificially that is holy and pleasing to God.
-God has provided you what you need for Holy living.
-Turn from the ways of darkness (repentance, confession).
-Live out the Light in Christ that reveals God’s love and truths.
