REFLECTING UPON THE WORD WRITTEN (Scriptures)
1. PRAY FERVENTLY: Pray for the Holy Spirit to open your heart to receive God's Word.
2. READ SLOWLY: Ps.13:2,5, 27:1-4, 42:5; Daniel 3 & 6; Matt. 6:19-21; Rm.5:3-5, 15:13; 1 Cor. 2:9
3. REFLECT DEEPLY: Did any verses specifically stand out to you? Consider writing them down and any implication/application God may be pressing upon you.
REFLECTING UPON THE WORD SPOKEN (Sermon)
1. What HOPE do you carry when you think about your future? How confident are you that this will happen?
2. Why does it matter how you conduct your Christian life in the present? How will this impact your eternal heavenly life with God in the future?
3. In what ways is the devil trying to rob and steal what God wants to bless you with?
4. How was it possible for Daniel, Shadrach, Meshack, and Abednego not to compromise in the hope they had in God when faced with persecution (see Daniel 3 & 6)?
5. Will you make a decision to trust fully in God's love and goodness over you regardless of the suffering and/or persecution you might have to go through? Ask the Holy Spirit to help strengthen you and build the courage to have such willingness. Such bold witnessing may just turn a whole nation around for Jesus (eg. King Nebuchadnezzar made a decree for the people to fear and have reverence to the God of Daniel)!
