SERMON: HOW TO PRAY – Why Unanswered Prayers?

I. Are We Really Praying?
- uncertain God will listen – skeptical, vague, quick
- passionately praying vs. passively hoping
- not sure how to really approach or talk with God
II. We Gave Up Too Quickly
- looking for an immediate response
- assume silence means “no”
- prayer delayed doesn’t mean prayer denied
- Jesus teaches importance on persistent prayers
- pray it through until answers are received
III. Not Relationally Right with God
- unrepentant sins hindering prayer life with God
- wrong motives, unforgiving heart
IV. Delays from a Spiritual Battle (Daniel 10:10-18)
- Daniel delayed understanding due to spiritual warfare
V. Does Not Align in Who God is, His Word, His Will
- God listens to prayers which align with His will (1 John 5:14)

3. Are there unholy ways hindering your prayer-life with your Heavenly Father? Ask the Lord to reveal as such so you may repent and be relationally forgiven and at peace with God (2 Chronicles 7:14-16).
