SERMON NOTES/REFLECTION

I. LIVING IN THE WORLD
a. Do you believe you have a good and correct understanding of Jesus? How might the devil twist your understanding towards the truth in who Jesus is (e.g. just a good teacher, a prophet, a criminal, etc.)?

II. ABIDING IN THE WORD
a. Read: Is. 53:4-6; Rom. 5:9-11; 2 Cor. 5:18-19,21; Heb. 12:2
b. What verses stand out to you? How might God be speaking to you specifically through these verses?
c. In Old Testament understanding, God is known to punish the wicked and unrepentant people for their sins. When you read verse 5 whose sins is this Suffering Servant being pierced for? Why and what does this mean for you?

III. GROWING IN THE WAY
a. Jesus (God incarnate, God in-man, Son of God) came to die for our sins, reconcile us with God (forgiveness & peace), and, make us whole/well through the work of the Holy Spirit (mind-body-soul, Matt. 8:16-17; 1 Peter 2:22-24).
b. Would you like to receive forgiveness, be at peace with God, and allow God to make you whole? Here is a prayer to guide you.

PRAYER: "Dear Lord, I want to know You personally. I acknowledge that my sins have separated me from you. Thank you for sending Jesus who died in my place and rose again to be my Savior. I now turn to Christ to rescue me from my sin by placing my faith in Him alone for forgiveness and eternal life. Amen!" (KnowingHimPersonally.com)
