“Committed to the Cost”

I. INTRODUCTION
A. Recap: Battling Temptation in the Wilderness
-require spiritual strengthening (maturity) which develops when you are abiding and following Jesus, His Word, and, live in Worship.
B. Religious Convert vs. Relational Disciple?
- the devil will tempt you to reconsider the cost
(eg. what you will lose not what you will gain)
- who has the greater hold on you (World vs. Christ)
II. BIBLICAL CONTEXT
A. Confronted by Jesus to Count the Cost
- lay down your comforts, securities, controls
- lay down your worldly loyalties for Kingdom priorities
- lay down distractions and keep focused on your mission
III. IMPLICATIONS/APPLICATIONS/REFLECTIONS
- Is Christ worthy of the cost to follow wherever He leads?
- What areas in your life are holding you back from committing more to Jesus?
- What are some of your worldly priorities, loyalties, and, responsibilities? How will you ensure they don’t become your idols?
- In prayer, ask Jesus what next step(s) you need to take in obedience to follow more closely to His Kingdom cause.
